The Florida Theater started development in summer of 1926 by Southern Enterprises, Inc. with R. E. Corridor and Co. also, Roy A. Benjamin as the draftsmen. The auditorium was built up as a seven-story concrete flame resistant working with a rooftop plant and with an accentuation on demonstrating motion pictures and live exhibitions. R. E. Corridor and Roy A. Benjamin outlined the Florida Theater in the Mediterranean Revival design style.
